Ex-police officer says KKK document was an antique, denies being racist
Former Muskegon police officer Charles Anderson vehemently denied being a racist and told police investigators that the Ku Klux Klan application found in his home was an antique, according to a report released Monday by the city of Muskegon.
Confederate flags found at his home, Anderson said, were a small part of a TV show memorabilia collection the former officer had been amassing for decades, according to the report.
Anderson, 48, was fired from the Muskegon Police Department on Sept. 12. His firing followed a lengthy investigation into a report he had Ku Klux Klan memorabilia and Confederate flags in his home for sale.
