Lana Del Rey has unleashed the name and cover artwork for her new album – and angered people online for the bizarre statement that accompanied it.
The 35-year-old ‘Born to Die’ singer announced her new album would be called Chemtrails Over The Country Club – then appeared to pre-empt any criticism that she was indulging in “tokenism” by including “women of colour” on the album cover.
In a somewhat jumbled message on Twitter, Del Rey said the women on the cover of the album were all friends who were a “beautiful mix of everything.”
“In 11 years working I have always been extremely inclusive without even trying to,” she said.
“My best friends are rappers, my boyfriends have been rappers.
