Unite, the UK’s largest union, is welcoming Show Racism the Red Card to the union’s headquarters on Wednesday 5 September to launch Wear Red Day 2018, which will be attended by former and current footballers.
The launch event will take place at 17:00 at Unite’s headquarters in London. In attendance will be former Arsenal footballers Perry Groves and Paul Davis, former Chelsea player Paul Elliot, Jason Lee previously of Watford, Paul Mortimer previously of Charlton and Anwar Uddin who played for West Ham. Also in attendance will be Riva Casley and Michelle Young who both currently play for Millwall Lionesses.
The launch event will help build support for Wear Red Day 2018 on Friday 19 October 2018. The event is aimed at getting people to show their opposition to racism by wearing something red to work and donating £1 to charity.
