Defamation case against DMK spokesperson
The Podanur police has registered a case against DMK spokesperson Tamilan Prasanna for allegedly making defamatory remarks against Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and AIADMK Ministers at a public meeting last month.
Mr. Prasanna has been booked under Section 505 (2) of the Indian Penal Code (Statements creating or promoting enmity, hatred or ill-will between classes).
He is said to have made the remarks during a public meeting organised by the DMK at the Kamarajar Nagar Junction on Madukkarai Market Road on March 17.
The case was registered based on a complaint filed by U. Rajesh, Sub-Inspector (Law and Order) of the Podanur police station.
